Postponed excitement, that is what I and the other researchers felt after our defense. I believe we were all looking forward for our final grade but it wasn’t given to us yet. Yes, We are thankful and beyond grateful for we were able to pass but we just hate the feeling of uneasiness because we don’t know what are instored in our fate. We were like lost children nervously looking for our mothers. We were waiting.
Right after our presentation, the panelists asked us to step out of the room for a while. It was the time they deliberately evaluated our paper. After a couple of minutes, we were told to get in. This is it!-- the most awaited part.
We were about to hear the numbers we’ve been longing for. To our surprise, one of our panelists told us we passed and that’s it. Honestly, I was quite disappointed and I believe the other researchers were too. I just had to accept that I have to wait a little longer. After all, waiting for some time will not kill me. It was just the process that we have to follow. What can we do when patience is our virtue?
Despite this annoyed feeling, I understand the thought that we have to pass our final revisions before our final grade get to be released. In that way, our papers will be graded properly and more accurately. Instead, we should rise up, keep calm and finish our revisions. Well, let’s just have our fingers crossed hoping it will be worth the time, talent, treasure and most importantly—the wait.
