Atheletes from the BACOMM Society are already preparing for the much awaited Sportsfest this school year as early as the first week of September.
Sportsfest is an annual event in SPUQC wherein every athlete from different societies are looking forward to. There are various events that one can join during the Sportsfest like basketball, volleyball, badminton, swimming, scrabble, table tennis, and cheerdance.
As early as the first week of September, athletes from the BACOMM Society are already training for the upcoming Sportsfest. Desirree Narvas, a cheerdancer shares that the cheerleading team is training two hours everyday. Jiminia Lim, a basketball player also shares that the basketball team is training weekly in preparation for the Sportsfest.
As a student, its difficult to manage both sports and academics but the BACOMM Society is very dedicated and tries their best to excel in both aspects. Diego Alberto, captain of the swimming team shares his experience in being the captain and being the block representative at the same time, “I am doing my best to handle my team and at the same time handling my block since I am also a class representative right now. So I am really busy but I can manage both groups since both groups are very cooperative.” Jiminia Lim also shares, “Being a mass communication student, its hard to balance shootings, recordings and editing with training.”
As the Sportsfest week are approaching we can expect a great performance by the BACOMM Society. The Sports Manager of BACOMM shares the technique in winning the Sportsfest, “One technique para manalo ang BACOMM sa mga games is team work and message ko sa BACOMM is to stay humble, enjoy and work as a team and pray.”
