BIG STARS IN STAR MAGIC SPORTSFEST 2016

Star Magic artists dedicated a time in their hectic schedules to do their sports. The star-studded event was held at the Celebrity Sports Plaza last May 22. All the artists once again show off their sporty and athletic sides. Some sports including swimming, badminton, volleyball, basketball, and some fun games for the Star Magic kids.
For this year’s sportsfest, the five teams were named after the superheroes. The Blue Captain America was led by Ronnie Alonte, a hashtags member, Green Hulk team that was led by Jairus Aquino, while the Star Magic’s Red Iron Man Dream team by Xian Lim, Yellow Wolverine led by the comedian, Eric Nicolas, and the Black Widow team led by the Teen King, Daniel Padilla. It started with the parade of each team with their beautiful muses. For the Blue team, they had Alexa Ilacad and Chienna Filomeno, for the Green team, Loisa Andalio and Andrea Brillantes, for the Red team, Mica Rivera of Girltrends, while the Yellow team had Kelly Day, the Black team had Ysabel Ortega and Heaven Peralejo, and the Sun Life Financial Team had Maja Salvador.
The event began by singing the national anthem led by Angeline Quinto, followed by the opening prayer led by Xian Lim. Piolo Pascual led the opening marks, which was followed by Oath of Sportsmanship led by Gerald Anderson and lighting of the torch initiated by Daniel Padilla. The event was hosted by Eric Nicolas, Erika Abello, and Robi Domingo with their side hosts, Tippy Dos Santos, Drei Felix, and Kitkat.
The Sun Life Financial team was successfully controlled the swimming relay. The rising stars, Zonia Mejia and Erika Abello placed the second while the newbie Kira Balinger and Enchong Dee are in the runner ups. In the badminton sport, Heaven Peralejo and Hatima Bien of Green Hulk team won the women’s division while Neil Coleta and Inigo Pascual of Black Widow team won the men’s division. Kathryn Bernardo and Janella Salvador played for the first time in the women’s badminton game. Under the volleyball category, the Blue Captain America defeats the Green Hulk team while the Yellow Wolverine team won against the Black Widow team. The Mythical six awardees are Julia Baretto, Gretchen Ho, Joseph Marco, Jed Montero, Marco Gumabao, and Ashley Colet. The Star Magic Teens and Kids also joined some fun games including Saving Earth, Boost your Boosts, Slam n’ Jam, and Shield of Justice. For the teen’s basketball division, the Green Hulk team beats the Blue Captain America. Jairus Aquino got the Most Valuable Player award while Bugoy Carino for the Rookie of the Year award. And for the most exciting and awaited part of the basketball adult division, the Black Widow team conquer the court against the Blue Captain America. Teen King Daniel Padilla was awarded as the Most Valuable Player award for the third time.
Star Magic artists was able to spend their time through their busy schedules. All the tiredness and sweat are all paid off as they enjoy the annual Star Magic Sportsfest 2016.
